Nicole Van Vuuren is just a girl, exploring fashion through mundane interactions between body and cloth, entity and boundary, finish and unfinish, establishing a relationship with the space in between.

She Creates an aesthetic which favours the imperfect, unfinished, broken or unloved.

Born in Aotearoa, New Zealand, Nicole van Vuuren grew up designing and making with the offcuts from the furniture factory her father worked in. later in life she moved to new york, working with Eckhaus Latta before returning to Aotearoa to launch her label.

Collaborating with other NZ designers she seeks offcuts, remnants and scrap fabrics from the community and the Auckland City Mission. carefully she curates and re-contextualises new garments, minimising textile waste within the fashion industry.

Her focus is to elevate recycled fashion, pushing the boundaries of what can be done, constantly experimenting with different textiles, shapes and disgarded garments.
Each piece is unique, made exclusively by hand in her Tamaki Makaurau studio.
